Why We Use A Water Fed Pole System!

Updated: Apr 18, 2021

(Professional window cleaner North Sydney 'City Window Cleaning')

You may have seen an increasing number of professional window cleaners using a water fed pole system for cleaning windows (Picture above shows the system in use). The principle of the water fed pole system is based on the use of cleaning with pure water without chemicals or cleaning agents. But is it really beneficial? Here at City Window Cleaning we would like to explain the benefits of using this system.

Firstly, how does it actually work?

The water fed pole system uses a pole through which pure water is fed to a brush at the end. The brush is then moved across the window allowing the pure water to absorb impurities and lift the dirt. The window is then rinsed to leave a streak free sterile surface. Not only does the water fed pole system leave the window clean, it also cleans the frame.

Reduced risk of damage to a client’s property

Using a water fed pole system avoids disturbance of borders and landscaping.

Gutters which can easily be broken are no longer at risk of damage by ladders. This also enables glass roofs and glass conservatories which could be scratched/damaged using a ladder to be safely cleaned.

Window glass stays cleaner for longer

The water goes through a special filter and because it is de-ionised it has no static charge. Due to salty conditions in Sydney this is extremely helpful for the houses/businesses we service located near coastal areas such as the Eastern Suburbs, Northern Beaches and Sydney Harbour Foreshore.

Left for a short time the water runs away and leaves windows streak free. The detergents used in traditional window cleaning actually attract dirt, so with the water fed pole system windows will stay cleaner for longer. In the long run it also saves you money as you get longer out of your view before needing them cleaned again.

Health and Safety Working at Height regulations

Windows are often in difficult to reach positions, leaving some windows almost impossible to clean and hazardous to operatives using the traditional ladder system. Water fed pole system carried out at ground level with telescopic fibreglass poles, with scope to reach heights up to 5 stories safely from the ground. Gone are the days where you need to hang on for dear life 4 stories up on a ladder!

Eco-friendly

Does not use any detergents. It only uses purified de-ionised water. It is completely eco friendly which is more important than ever today!
